FURNISHED CLEARANCE REVIEW / OCTOBER 7, 2026

How the rooms work when occupied.

Five focused checks using the scaled schematic, with explicit furniture and appliance assumptions. Toggle occupied seats and open doors to see where everyday use narrows the routes.

1 · Kitchen

Resolve the tall appliance bank and island length together.

2 · Dining

Preserve the route west of the table; the window side is tighter.

3 · Pantry

Shallower west storage improves the desk and laundry aisle.

4 · Bathroom

Test a shorter vanity and matching partition; confirm sauna and shower access.

North is up. All overlays use the same scale as the plan. Dashed outlines show alternative or open-use footprints; they do not revise the architect’s walls.

What I would refine

Assumptions in this test

Checks below describe the current proposal; alternative figures are explicitly labeled.

CheckApproximate spaceImplication

Selected appliances change the fit

Refrigerator: Samsung RF90F23AECR, 28¾″ deep plus a 2″ rear gap; drawer-open depth 44½″ before the rear gap. Samsung refrigerator specification.

Laundry: two WD90F53AVBUS vented combos, each 34½″ deep and 56⁵⁄₁₆″ with its door open. Duct routing changes the required rear gap. A proposed 15″ pedestal raises the machine to 58¾″ before overhead clearance. Folding doors need ventilation openings and service access. Samsung laundry specification; WE702 pedestal dimensions.

The earlier pantry renders and 34″ cabinet-fit sketch are now superseded for appliance sizing. They remain finish studies; use the updated tests here for spatial planning.

Other rooms: what is still unresolved

Music room

Keep the passage to the patio clear of the lounge chairs and instrument. The piano is a render addition, not a specified piece on the schematic. Its actual width, depth, bench and occupied playing position need a separate footprint check.

Sensory room

The two-panel pocket slider needs a clear approach and unobstructed pocket operation. Equipment, mats and any suspended activity setup have not been specified, so the open render cannot establish their operating clearances.

Bedrooms & office

The walkthrough beds and desk chairs are placeholders. Bed size, drawers, closet access and occupied workstation chairs should be checked against selected furniture before considering these rooms resolved.

What these numbers mean

Wall, counter, island and drawn furniture edges come from the October 6 vector schematic at its printed ¼″ = 1′ scale. The laundry/desk proposal, tall appliance bank, occupied-seat depths and appliance door projections are explicit assumptions. Values are rounded for planning; finishes, overhangs, handles and hardware can reduce them.

Reference benchmarks: 42″ single-cook work aisles, 48″ multiple-cook aisles, 36″ walkways and 44″ from table/counter edge to an obstruction where people walk past seating, from the NKBA Kitchen Planning Guidelines (2022-hosted publication). These are planning comparisons, not a code or accessibility assessment. Seat-edge benchmarks and the residual gap behind our test seat envelope are different measurements.
