# Fulmer Residence — furnished clearance review
October 7, 2026

Owner target: two cooks; two WD90F53AVB combo units side by side on pedestals.

Basis: October 6 vector schematic at ¼ inch = 1 foot, selected Samsung specifications, explicit use envelopes. Rounded planning figures, not field-verified finished clearances.

## Kitchen
The tall appliance bank is the main pinch point.
The drawn counters give 48″ at the back and 42″ at the ends. Samsung RF90F23AECR is 28¾″ deep; with its specified 2″ rear gap, the proposed bank leaves about 36″ at the west end.
Recommended study: For your two-cook target, test an approximately 7′5″ island with three stools and 48″ at both ends. The four-stool alternative uses an approximately 8′5″ island and restores 42″ ends; it falls short of the two-cook target.
Assumptions: RF90F23AECR: 35¾″ wide × 70¼″ high × 28¾″ deep; 2″ rear gap gives 30¾″ installed depth. Samsung shows 43″ depth with doors at 90°, 44½″ with drawer open and a 58½″ spread at 125°. Diagram uses the drawer-depth envelope. Adjacent oven/trim and full-opening geometry remain to be checked. Oven door 20″ and dishwasher 26″ are assumptions. Seats use 24″ beyond the island edge.

| Check | Space | Implication |
|---|---|---|
| Back work aisle | ~48″ | Good starting point for two cooks |
| East end aisle | ~42″ | Single-cook benchmark; below two-cook target |
| West aisle with actual fridge depth | ~36″ | 30¾″ installed-depth envelope; trim still unresolved |
| Back aisle with dishwasher open | ~22″ | Temporary obstruction; use an end route |
| West aisle with oven open | ~16″ | Do not rely on this route while oven is open |
| Fridge drawer open: current / two-cook study | ~20″ / ~32″ | Local temporary gap; use opposite end |
| Island edge to sofa | ~57″ | About 33″ remains with the test seat envelope |

## Dining & entrance
Make the west side of the table the everyday route.
The drawn 36″ × 82″ table leaves about 42″ to the window wall and 59″ to the sectional. Seated diners substantially reduce those routes.
Recommended study: My first choice is to move the sectional 12″ west and retain the 36″-wide table. That raises the occupied west route to about 47″ while retaining roughly 47″ between sectional and west wall. Alternatively, test a 32″-wide table at its existing centerline. Keep the front-door and closet swing envelopes unfurnished.
Assumptions: Dining seats extend 24″ from the table edge in occupied mode. The sectional shift is 12″ west with no rotation. Existing drawn door arcs govern the entry. Green outlines are furniture alternatives, not an architect revision.

| Check | Space | Implication |
|---|---|---|
| Table edge to east wall | ~42″ | About 18″ remains with occupied seats |
| Table edge to sectional | ~59″ | About 35″ remains with occupied seats |
| 32″ table: east / west edge gaps | ~44″ / ~61″ | About 20″ / 37″ behind test seats |
| 12″ sectional shift: west route / patio side | ~47″ / ~47″ | West route behind occupied seats; patio-side figure is sofa-to-wall |
| Front / closet swing envelopes | ~37″ apart | No envelope overlap; keep arrival space unfurnished |
| Closed entry room width | ~103″ | A bench must be tested separately |

## Butler pantry
The desk and laundry compete for working space.
Two Samsung WD90F53AVB vented combos are deeper than the earlier pantry sketch allowed. Test a 40″ enclosure with 4″ rear duct space: the aisle is 41″ opposite 24″ storage, or 47″ opposite 18″ storage.
Recommended study: Use the 18″ west storage/desk study as the starting point. It gives 47″ closed at laundry and about 27″ with a machine door open. Routing ducts above the machines may allow a 38″ enclosure and improve those gaps by 2″. Confirm ducting and folding-door details before fixing cabinetry.
Assumptions: Two WD90F53AVBUS combos, each 27″ wide × 43¾″ high × 34½″ deep; open depth 56⁵⁄₁₆″. Rear gap: 4″ for duct below, or 2″ with duct above, per Samsung. Test enclosure depths: 40″ / 38″ including front allowance and provisional door thickness. Enclosure length 60″ is provisional. A 15″ WE702-family pedestal gives 58¾″ machine height; exact selected pedestal still to confirm. Cabinet doors need unobstructed ventilation; Samsung calls for 72 in² combined air openings when installed with another machine.

| Check | Space | Implication |
|---|---|---|
| Closed laundry aisle: 24″ / 18″ west storage | 41″ / 47″ | 40″ enclosure with lower duct routing |
| Machine door open: 24″ / 18″ west storage | ~21″ / ~27″ | 56⁵⁄₁₆″ open depth + 4″ rear gap |
| Duct routed above / 38″ enclosure | Adds 2″ to both gaps | Requires confirmed installer layout |
| Seated desk: 24″ / 18″ west depth | 33″ / 39″ | Desk opposite 24″ sink cabinet |
| Machine + 15″ pedestal height | 58¾″ before overhead clearance | Tall enclosure; no normal-height counter over machines |
| Two machines in provisional 60″ bay | 54″ total appliance widths | Remaining 6″ must cover installation gaps, fillers and door hardware |

## Master bathroom
The approach works, but the partition creates a narrow neck.
There is roughly 69″ beside the sauna, narrowing to about 37″ between the vanity partition and shower divider. The bedroom entry is a nominal 32″ opening.
Recommended study: Preserve the wide central aisle. Test a 66″ double vanity and matching partition, shortening both at the east end by 6″ to create about 43″ at the neck. Shortening the wall alone is insufficient if the vanity still projects to its original end. Confirm sink/base-cabinet sizes and shower-screen details.
Assumptions: The sauna access is inferred, with a 30″ east-opening door. Its illustrated swing reduces the broad aisle to about 39″. A 30″ shower-entry use zone is a test, not a specified shower door. The half wall plus glass is explicit; other wall heights are inferred.

| Check | Space | Implication |
|---|---|---|
| Partition-to-shower neck | ~37″ | Single-file connection; cap/glass may reduce it |
| 66″ vanity + matching partition study | ~43″ | Both footprints shorten 6″; cabinet layout needs review |
| Sauna-to-shower aisle | ~69″ | About 39″ with assumed sauna door open |
| Bedroom entry | ~32″ nominal | Finished clear width still unconfirmed |
| Shower / toilet access | Door and screen details unresolved | Check final hinges, handles and entry gap |

## Residential hallway
Keep the hallway as circulation space.
The straight wall runs leave approximately 40″ between wall faces. A 12″-deep console would reduce that to about 28″.
Recommended study: Keep the floor-level passage free of consoles, benches and projecting storage. Use wall-mounted lighting/art that does not materially narrow it. Confirm finished doorway clearances before choosing trim and hardware.
Assumptions: Width is checked at the long kitchen/bedroom wall runs. Door gaps and local jambs vary; this is not a complete finished-door schedule.

| Check | Space | Implication |
|---|---|---|
| Straight wall-to-wall passage | ~40″ | Measured from vector wall faces |
| With hypothetical 12″ console | ~28″ | Avoid this furniture placement |
| Residential doorways | Not signed off | Leaf, stops and handle projection need a schedule |

## Outstanding room checks
Music: actual piano/bench; sensory: activity equipment; bedrooms: bed/drawer/closet selection; office: selected desk and chair sizes.
